Hi Everyone,

I cannot believe that Christmas is right around the corner!! But I am thrilled as I will be heading to Dallas for the 2nd year in a row to spend time with my boyfriend’s family.  It is such a special time, and every year we have these delicious meals, homemade cinnamon rolls (this might be my favorite party! HA!), and we lounge around the Christmas Tree, which I am particularly looking forward to because I am wiped from Y. Lo’s Holiday Season this past month.  It was quite a successful month for Y. Lo, so thank you to everyone who worked with us for their Holiday Parties and Holiday Lunches!

Here is another one of our events that took place at the Jet Hotel, located right Downtown on Wazee.  This was my first time catering at Jet and as you can see from the pictures, it is a great space!  The staff is amazing and very friendly too!  This was for King Sooper’s Holiday Party.  The night started out with freshly made drinks provided by the Jet Hotel.  We then served Prime Rib with a Merlot Mushroom Reduction and Horseradish Cream Sauce, Lemon Herb Marinated Chicken Breast with Roasted Artichoke Hearts and Capers, Sesame Crusted Tarragon Salmon Filets, Garlic Cream Potatoes Gratin, Roasted Red Pepper Rice Pilaf, Mixed Green Salad with Fresh Vegetables and Balsamic Vinaigrette, and Classic Caesar Salad, and Fresh Rolls.

After everyone was finished eating their fantastic meals, they started to get down on the dance floor!  I put out a couple of trays of Cookies, Lemon Bars, and Brownies as they danced the night away!  Overall, it was a great success!

Hi Everyone,

Sorry it has been a while since our last post!  As you may have guessed, Y. Lo Epicure is VERY BUSY with Holiday Parties this time of year 🙂  We have been thoroughly impressed with Chef Yolonda’s food over the past few weeks, THANKS YOLONDA!

This was a Holiday Party we did last Friday, and I must say it went splendidly!  For one, they chose such a perfect venue for their event.  It is called Pomegranate Place and it is located off of 7th and Clarkson.  I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to do a corporate function, holiday party, birthday party, showers, etc.  For the Holidays they completely decked it out with beautiful Christmas Trees and other wonderful decorations!  People were cozying up by the fire towards the end of the night too, it was just perfect!

For the Hors’DOeuvres Display we served our Roasted Artichoke, Sun-Dried Tomato, and Mozzarella Crispy Wontons, Creamy Italian Sausage Stuffed Button Mushrooms, and MY FAVORITE 🙂 Coconut Crusted Shrimp with Honey Mustard Dill Sauce that we served in Martini Glasses with a Cherry and Pineapple.  It looked great, and they went like Hot Cakes!!

For Dinner we served Tender (and I mean TENDER, I get so many compliments on our meat, no matter what kind.  And I don’t know what Yolonda does to it all, but for some reason it is always the most tender, juicy, deliciousness I have ever tried!) Beef Wellington topped with Duxelles and Wrapped in Puff Pastry.  We also did Sauteed Garlic Shrimp with Fresh Vegetables and Pesto Cream Sauce over Fettuccini.  We had delicious Garlic Cream Potatoes Gratin, and Romaine Caesar Salad for sides.  To end the meal we did a Pecan Pie (oh you should have seen this, yum!), Spiced Apple Cake, and Chocolate Covered Strawberries.

Check out the pictures for this event, and PLEASE contact me if you need any information on Pomegranate Place, I would be happy to connect you with the owner, who is such a pleasure to work with too!

Happy Holidays!!

Don’t Dessert Me!

Good Tuesday Morning Y. Lo Friends,

There is no better way to conclude a fabulous meal then with a little something sweet (says Meg, the girl with the permanent sweet tooth…) Although so much focus is put on calorie counting and healthy eating these days, there is no denying that even the most stringent dieters can’t help but to sink their teeth into a tasty treat at least once and a while.

It’s all in the name, actually. Desserts are traditionally served at the end of the meal (except with me… I like to get them out of the way first) concluding a special event or family get-together with one last decadent morsel.  The word dessert comes from the French term, desservir, which means to “clean away” commonly used in reference to clearing the table. Perhaps this is why dessert is served at the end or perhaps it just follows the save the best for last method.

Either way, Y. Lo Epicure includes desserts with nearly everything! We offer a basic package with lemon bars, brownies and cookies, but we can up the dessert ante, with scrumptious items such as Rasberry Mouse Tartlets, Chocolate Drizzled Cream Puffs, Lemon Tartlets, Mini Eclairs, Italian Parfaits, Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Fudge Brownie Bites, Spiced Apple Cake, and my personal fave, Mini Cheesecakes along with custom cakes and cupcakes.

Even better news, everything is fully customizable. The Y. Lo Team can accommodate any sweet craving you’ve got to offer! Give us a call and see how we can sweeten your day!

Until Next Time,

Meg Davis

Holiday Fare

Greetings Y. Lo Fans,

Meg here, to talk details. Lisa and the rest of us here at Y. Lo Epicure know that success lies in attention to the deets. This is precisely why we provide complementary Holiday Decor with every mouth-watering Holiday display we create this season.

Party-goers are sure to “Ooo” and “Aahh” at the scrumptious eats, delicious aromas and the eye-pleasing presentation of Chef Yolanda’s displays.

Contact us today to discuss what we can create for your event this season!

My favorite decor strategy is to fill glass flower vases with colorful ornaments. It’s quick and and easy way to add cheerful pops of color to the table. What fun ways do you deck the walls, halls, and most importantly, the dinner table this time of year?

Until next time,

Meg Davis – Y.Lo Epicure
